Research Interest:
Intracellular lipid droplets have been proposed to play a key role in the mutualistic endosymbiosis between reef-building corals and the dinoflagellate endosymbiont Symbiodinium spp. The molecular mechanism that regulates this association remains the mystery. The general thrust of my research program is aimed to investigate and identify lipid droplet proteins in the Symbiodinium from Euphyllia glabrescens. We expect to provide more experimental evidence for the lipid droplet pivotal roles in regulating the endosymbiosis.
